FSC Summit 2014 Sessions Announced

LOS ANGELES — The Free Speech Coalition has announced the seminar sessions for the FSC Summit, which will be held in conjunction with the XBIZ 360 events series at the extraordinary W Hollywood Hotel in January.

The 2014 FSC Summit will run Jan. 22-24, with the FSC Awards taking place on the evening of Jan. 22 at the W Hollywood. The second annual FSC Awards will honor an elite group of business leaders for their contribution to the greater good of their respective market segments and the industry as a whole. Award categories include Woman of the Year, Man of the Year, Internet Company of the Year, Novelty Company of the Year, Production Company of the Year and Performer Positive Image among others.

With focused sessions to serve the key sectors of the industry, FSC’s seminar track complements XBIZ 360’s theme of full-spectrum analysis of the rapidly evolving adult industry. XBIZ 360, running concurrently with the FSC Summit at the W Hollywood Hotel, will feature conferences tailored to the digital, movie production, pleasure products and retail markets.

“The FSC Summit will provide insight, options and solutions for areas of concern to all segments of the industry, while recognizing and honoring exceptional businesses and individuals within the adult entertainment and pleasure products community,"  FSC CEO Diane Duke said.

The FSC Summit will once again unite industry executives, lobbyists, business and legal experts and deliver the latest industry updates and insights on topics and issues most pertinent to the initiatives of the adult industry trade association. Scheduled sessions include:

FSC: Code of Ethics — Seal of Approval

A few years back, the Free Speech Coalition, with input from countless industry members, created a code of ethics for the pleasure products and adult entertainment industry.  With increased scrutiny from government, payment processors, banks and insurance providers, it’s become more important than ever for companies to be able to demonstrate good business practices and ethical standards.  This session will review the industry code of ethics and explain how companies can obtain the "FSC Code of Ethics Seal of Approval" to display at their businesses and online.

FSC: 'Hey! They Are Selling My Products on eBay!' — A Discussion on Anti-counterfeit Pilot Results

Because of the Internet, the pleasure products industry is merging with mainstream with a broadened base of customers.  However, the Internet also has broadened the amount and distribution of counterfeit pleasure products.  Is there anything that can be done?  Meet and discuss the results of an FSC-sponsored pilot with executives from The Screaming O and Sportsheets, as well as other progressive companies exploring ways to curb distribution of counterfeit pleasure products.

FSC: When the Cops Come Knocking
This seminar will focus on preparing members of the pleasure products and adult entertainment industry on proper techniques in responding to law enforcement and government officials. Law enforcement can strike at any moment and adult industry members need to understand how to not prejudice themselves or improperly supply any testimony or evidence to law enforcement. Year after year, there has been a steady increase in law enforcement interest and activity targeting the adult industry from agencies such as the FBI, FTC, OSHA, local police and the DHS. This seminar will explore and educate participants on some simple steps that may save you from self-incrimination.
