CockyBoys Founders Host Vassar College Panel on Polyamory

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. — Vassar College, a longstanding bastion for liberal culture, will be hosting CockyBoys founders and polyamourous “throuple” Jake Jaxson, Benny Morecock and RJ Sebastian today for a panel discussion.

The event is being held in anticipation of Vassar student Jack Levinson’s new original play, "Gay Sex," who gleaned inspiration from a 2012 New York Magazine article spotlighting the CockyBoys founding trio’s unconventional relationship.

Sponsored by Unbound and Vassar’s Department of American Studies, the college’s event webpage says that topics of conversation will include “polyamory, representations of sexuality in art and the legitimization of the pornographic medium.”

“I’m thrilled and honored to be speaking on a panel at Vassar College in the first place, let alone one centered around CockyBoys and my family,” Jaxson said in a press release. “I’m really looking forward to having a thoughtful and genuine conversation about all the great possibilities that still exist in this medium known as adult entertainment .”

In an attempt to bridge the porn-art gap, Jaxson pioneers projects that he believes challenge traditional conceptions of adult films. The Vassar panel, entitled “CockyBoys at Vassar: Throuples, Gay Porn, and the American Dream” suggests that mainstream culture is beginning to digest erotic content — even of the hardcore variety — as legitimate fodder for serious consideration and discussion.
