Private to Launch PrivateTV Channel in Europe

BARCELONA — Private Media Group, Inc. announced that it will launch a new adult entertainment channel called PrivateTV this month.

According to Private, the international version of the channel will be available on Eutelsat Hot Bird 13B while a French language version, PrivateTV France, with substantial original short form French language programming, will be available separately.

"Simply put, PrivateTV and PrivateTV France are exclusive, original and addictive," Private´s CEO Charles Prast said. "With a refreshing scene-driven format, thematic scheduling and the iconic Private brand we deliver the promise of the online experience to the TV, the only platform which can adequately convey the quality of our content. Of course Private has been in the European broadcast market for over a dozen years and is already a library and branding partner with Playboy Plus who operates and distributes Private Spice. We expect Private Spice and PrivateTV to be complementary in the market."

Prast added, "Private has always focused on innovative operator friendly strategies to provide entertainment to their viewers and the launch of PrivateTV is a further endeavor in this direction."

In addition to exclusive scenes from Private and its content partners, the channels will see the launch of exciting new shows like Private Investigations, Private Stars, Private VIP Pass and Private Hotline.

Private will be working in close cooperation with tmc Content Group AG, a stakeholder in this new venture and through its subsidiary tmc Content Group GmbH in Berlin, the leading German language adult broadcaster and telemedia service provider.

"tmc is already well positioned for over a decade as the dominant provider of compliant adult themed broadcast channels and telemedia services content in the DACH market," tmc`s Managing Director Andreas Fischer said. "Our association with Private, an existing preferred content supplier to tmc, will be further enhanced by this venture."
