Man Sues Flava Works Over Released Identity

CHICAGO — After allegedly agreeing to direct two gay porn movies for Flava Works on the condition his identity not be revealed, the unidentified producer and cameraman has filed suit against Flava Works, subsidiaries LukeBaby Productions and CocoDorm.com and company owner Phillip Bleicher after his identity was unveiled on camera.

According to the Chicago Sun-Times, the man, who filed the suit as “John Doe” in Cook County Circuit Court, alleges that Flava Works’ movies “Dorm Life 6” and “Dorm Life 7: Hot & Creamy” included both “visual and audible depictions” of his identity.

The man is suing for unspecified damages, claiming that his mainstream career has been irreparably harmed after appearing in a gay porn film. Both videos in question depict gay “blatino” content with many men performing together.

Calls to Flava Works seeking comment were not immediately returned.

“We regard this lawsuit as specious and without merit,” J.D. Obenberger, counsel for Flava Works and Bleicher, told XBIZ. “Time will tell that this suit is groundless.”

Obenberger also said that Bleicher denies all charges.

In May, Chicago’s Department of Business Affairs and Licensing issued a cease-and-desist order against Flava Works and CocoDorm.com after officials from the city’s Department of Public Health alleged they had uncovered evidence that models on the sites were engaging in unsafe sex and spreading diseases to each other as well as people outside the adult industry.

“Contrary to the article, there has never been an HIV outbreak in the CocoDorm,” a press release from Flava Works said. “While the CocoDorm was the target of a municipal investigation, because of alleged outbreaks within the Dorm, the Health Department did not close the Dorm. No civil or criminal investigations have been launched.”

At press time, FlavaWorks.com displayed the company's contact information but no content.
