Dave Pounder Looks at Economics of Sex in New Book

BOCA RATON, Fla. — Dave Pounder, the longtime pornographer who has produced, directed and performed in adult films for more than 10 years, has written a book on the economics of sex.

Pounder released this week "Obscene Thoughts: A Pornographer's Perspective on Sex, Love, and Dating," which examines intellectual and academic constructs regarding mate selection, sexual behavior and the reasons why people cheat.

The 342-page book, available at ObsceneThoughts.com for $19.95, was a five-year project for Pounder, who sells the book through independent publishing house CreateSpace.

"I started producing this book in between shoots in 2008 when I was a director for BangBros," Pounder told XBIZ. "I used a voice recorder to discuss all of these fallacies about relationships."

For Pounder, whose real name is Dave Mech, the book is one of many numerous entrepreneurial efforts.

Pounder speaks at universities on the topic of the adult biz and recently produced the documentary "Risky Business: A Look Inside America's Adult Film Industry." The movie, which had a budget of $50,000, has had screenings in various film festivals nationwide.

Currently a math tutor in Florida, Pounder operated Dave Pounder Productions, but that studio is no longer in the business of producing XXX movies.

Pounder is best known in the biz as a director, who started  in 2001 and went on to direct more than 100 titles for PIMPROLL, Hundies, Top Bucks, Python, Pay Serve, Blazing Bucks, Kink.com, Mayors Money, Rage Cash, Triple X Cash and BangBros.com, among others.
