Candida Royalle Releases Petra Joy's 'Female Fantasies'

LOS ANGELES — Filmmaker Candida Royalle announced her continued support of up-and-coming female directors with the release of "Female Fantasies," which is the second feature produced and directed by Petra Joy to be distributed in North America by Royalle’s Femme Productions.

Royalle, whose distribution partner is Adam & Eve, said that her company received such a strong response to its first Petra Joy feature “Feeling It...not Faking it!” that she was eager to release another one of her titles.

Joy, whose has received honors from the Barcelona International Erotic Film Festival and the Toronto Feminist Porn Awards, has created a title focused on women’s erotic fantasy lives with “Female Fantasies.”

From being pleasured by several lovers at once to a session on the kitchen counter, secretly spying on some eye-candy and a parody of a car wash gone triple-X, “My films are based on erotic fantasies that women from all over the world have shared with me,” Joy said. “I believe in a return to sensuality, and portray sex that is enriched by intimacy, creativity and humor.”

Shot with non-professional real-life lovers, Joy set out to capture authentic chemistry and desire with “Female Fantasies.” Joy explained that unlike traditional porn, “there is no list of positions to tick off, so the sensuality can develop slowly, based on the enjoyment and passion of the performers.”

Royalle remarked, “So, if you’re still wondering, ‘what do women want?’ Sit back and have a look. ‘Female Fantasies’ brings you a glimpse in to the inner workings of the erotic female mind.”

Joy began her career in television as an independent producer of a wide variety of programs from travel shows to documentaries. She is now solidifying her reputation as one of the top European erotic film directors, creating what she calls "artcore" porn from a female perspective.
