HotMovies Debuts Girlfriends Films' New Year's Release

PHILADELPHIA — HotMovies.com announced today that it is continuing its run of premieres and exclusives by debuting  Girlfriends Films’ “Twisted Passions 7: Lamoyne Hotel” on Jan 1.

Girlfriends CEO Dan O’Connell said the premiere is continuing the tradition of debuting an Internet only release with HotMovies.com for the New Year.

“This is our third such debut with HotMovies and the responses to ‘Poor Little Shyla’ in 2011 and ‘Poor Little Shyla 2’ in 2012 were incredible,” O’Connell said. ‘Twisted Passions 7’ reveals the seedier side of Thornhill, the mythological town where many Girlfriends Films movies take place. Lamoyne Hotel re-imagines the traditional cathouse as a place where sexually starved women can fulfill their lesbian fantasies.”

Starring Amber Chase, Sabrina Deep, Dylan Ryan, Elexis Monroe, Cherie Deville, Rain DeGrey, Bree Daniels and Veronica Snow, the film promises drama, passion and smoldering sex. It expands the world of Thornhill and, according to O’Connell, should be the first of many adventures in the town’s previously unseen Red Light District.

“Doing a Video On Demand pre-release before we eventually make this movie available on DVD makes sense as we have found these movies achieve legendary status on the Internet,” O’Connell added. “That helps us sell more pieces in stores, and meanwhile we will have capitalized on the VOD market in the best possible way.”

Director of business development James Cybert noted that the Internet-only debut is becoming an industry standard. “Ed Powers has been extremely successful bringing back his ‘Dirty Debutantes’ line exclusively on HotMovies websites and anticipation was high for Evil Angel’s ‘Voracious,’ which was only recently released for broad distribution,” Cybert  said.

He added, “Producers have learned that VOD releases lower costs and distribution headaches, and build serious buzz for any title that may later hit the shelves of brick and mortar establishments. I’m thrilled our success with the Shyla movies inspired Girlfriends Films to give us this amazing opportunity to break new ground with a new video line. It’s all part of the evolution of distribution, and I know we’ll have much more in store in 2013.”
