London Gunn, Miko Lee Announce 'Spartacus' Release Date, Contest

LOS ANGELES — London Gunn Films and Miko Lee Productions announced today a Sept. 18 release date for "Spartacus MMXII: The Beginning," an X-rated re-imagining of the historic slave-leader's rise to be distributed by Wicked Pictures.

The long-delayed swords-and-sandals feature is written and directed by Marcus London, who toplines the project as its titular hero. Co-producers Tommy Gunn and Miko Lee also star as gladiator Crixus and an Asian seductress, respectively.

"This was shot independently, without the help of a large studio," London said. "I'm so proud that a small group of performers were able to create something so spectacular through dedication and perseverance."

To celebrate the film's release, London Gunn Films and Miko Lee Productions are hosting a media-only screening of "Spartacus MMXII: The Beginning" on Sept. 13 at the London Gunn Ranch in Santa Clarita, Calif.

Two lucky fans will be allowed to attend the event provided they email London at Marcusmaxius@hotmail.com (RE: Spartacus Screening Questions) by midnight on Monday with the correct answers to the following questions:

1. Where was Spartacus originally from?

2. Spartacus' army swelled to a maximum of how many slaves?

3. What year did Spartacus escape from Ludis Batiatus?

"The screening will be just as spectacular as the film," London said. "We'll be watching it on a giant screen on the same set where we filmed. The ranch will be set up as an ode to the old Roman Empire with tiki torches for a rustic feel. We're going to make the screening as unique and grand as the 'Spartacus' movie itself. "

"Spartacus MMXII: The Beginning" costars Gracie Glam, Andy San Dimas, Jenna Presley, Devon Lee, Tanya Tate, India Summer, Tony De Sergio, Lucas Stone, TJ Cummings and Nacho Vidal.
