Williams Trading Co-owner Wins at World Series of Poker

PENNSAUKEN, N.J. — Williams Trading Company’s co-owner and sales manager Rich Pyne was a winner at the recent World Series of Poker in Las Vegas.

“The World Series of Poker is the largest poker event in the world has been in existence since the early 1970s,” the company said. “Rich, displaying his poker savvy, earned himself a place at the table!”

The event has been around for more than 30 years, and this year attracted 6,500 participants that paid $10,000 each to ante up at the 10-day-long event. The grand prize was $8.5 million.

After nine days of play, Pyne made it to the semi-finals before he was finally eliminated, the company said. Pyne made 52nd place and won $156,000.

"This year I brought my wife Gina and children, Eric and Jessica and they had a blast,” Pyne said. “Even though I was playing poker everyday from 12 noon until 1 a.m., they were able to go to the pool and see some shows on the strip. I'd become somewhat of a favorite and I was interviewed by ESPN which will air sometime next month. I am now seeking the designation of professional poker player for future poker events!"
