TAMPA, Fla. — Fetish performer and producer Mistress T will attend Fetish Con 2012.
Dubbed the “premiere East Coast fetish trade show,” Fetish Con occurs Aug. 2-5 in Tampa, Fla.
While at the show, Mistress T will sign autographs and pose for photos.
“I’m looking forward to this year’s Fetish Con,” Mistress T said. “It’s a great opportunity to meet fans and make new ones. The show also allows me to network with other professionals in the fetish and BDSM world. As the owner and operator of my own member site, it’s important for me to always remain current in the industry.”
As a result of increased exposure in media, literature, and cinema, people are becoming more aware of the fetish community, she said.
“While people are exposed more to fetishes and alternative lifestyles, it is still far from being mainstream,” Mistress T said. “When fetish elements appear in books, TV shows, and the media, it is as a device to add shock value. The intention is not acceptance, but ratings and sales. Honestly, I’m okay with remaining on the outside of society. “A large part of the thrill of the BDSM, fetish, and kink culture is the taboo nature. Becoming too mainstream would mean it lost its edge.”
