Bodi Spa to Debut at September's ILS in Las Vegas

QUEBEC — Bodi Spa has developed the Bodi Spa Line, a collection of personal massagers, vibrators and wellness products, which will debut at the International Lingerie Show, Sept. 9-12 in Las Vegas.

Alain Elmaleh, general manager of the Bodi Spa line says the collection was in development for more than a year.

“After extensive market research, we’ve been noticing a favorable change in the way women perceive adult toys,” Elmaleh said. “As a result more and more of them wish they could buy these items in mainstream stores, such as classy lingerie and couples stores, rather than adult bookstores and sex shops, which for the majority are geared more towards a male clientele.”

The Bodi Spa packaging was designed to reflect the change of attitude by women towards toys, the company said. Its aesthetic represents a  mainstream, therapeutic line of products rather than ordinary sex toys. “This is the reason why you won’t see any naked women or men featured on any of the packaging,” Elmaleh said.

Bodi Spa products include massagers such as the Almighty, the wonderwand, the wonderwand + (rechargeable), as well as medium range vibrators like the Must and the Ultimate (rechargeable), and smaller, more discreet vibrators such as the G, the wavy and The Egg. There are also four different models of vibrating cock rings. There are presently 20 different items in the Bodi Spa lineup, and another dozen items will be released before the end of 2012.

Bodi Spa will also launch three “Grey Shades Pouch” light fetish and bondage toy kits, based on the huge global success of the trilogy of books, “Fifty Shades of Grey,” which has generated an increased interest and demand for fetish and light bondage toys such as blindfolds, ball gags, handcuffs and other items.

“The ‘Fifty Shades of Grey’ phenomenon has brought the whole toy industry a bit closer to the mainstream market,” Elmaleh said. “Therefore we are convinced that our approach in term of packaging and choice of toys is the correct one going forward.”
