PinkCherry Reports Increase in Sales

TORONTO — PinkCherry.ca Adult Toys reports that consumers in Canada enjoy their bedroom activities and are willing to buy adult novelites despite the economy.

PinkCherry said that its statistics and sales reflect this trend.

PinkCherry Adult Toys opened its e-commerce site four years ago and with each month has grown at a brisk pace, the company said.

In June 2009, the company opened its wholesale site and in February 2010, it moved from its original 6,000 square foot warehouse to a 25,000 square-foot facility to meet consumer demands.

PinkCherry is owned and operated by two Canadian brothers with backgrounds in e-commerce who saw a gap in the Canadian market. The sales have shown no indication of slowing down, the company said.

The top three cities whose residents spent the most collectively on sex toys for this period are Toronto, Edmonton and Calgary. Montreal comes in close with 4th place. The following three cities in order are Vancouver, Ottawa (almost tied), and Winnipeg, with Saskatoon a little further down the list, followed by Halifax.

According to the company, new customers accounted for 56 percent of sales in the past year pointing to the growing market in Canada.

Canadians spent an average of $89.82 per order. The page viewed the most across Canada was male masturbators.

The Vibrators section and Dildos section were next in terms of most viewed. The two most popular products across Canada were the Magic Wand and the Wild G Vibe.
