Lucas Entertainment Wraps 'The Last Day'
NEW YORK — XBIZ Award-winning studio Lucas Entertainment has announced it has wrapped filming on its end-of-the-world epic “The Last Day."
Shot entirely on location in Ibiza, Spain, Lucas Entertainment said the film sets out to "usher in a new level of sex and action."
The story follows Lucas Exclusive Jonathan Agassi as he arrives by boat to a beautiful Mediterranean island. To his surprise the town is completely deserted: streets empty, beaches cleared and stores abandoned; as if in mid-day everyone simply disappeared. Suddenly two men on motorbikes (Will Helm and Kriss Aston) knock Jonathan down as they race by him.
The men take Jonathan back to their refuge and explain the forsaken town. Five days prior they were given a final newscast. The anchorman read out the horrific news that world would come to an end. “It is time to be with family, friends and loved ones. These are our last days.” Since then all signals, cell phones, everything has been cut off. The two men have chosen to stay as everyone else fled to island. The men now have no choice but to live as if there is no tomorrow and fulfill their fantasies before sunset.
But all is not as it seems when Jonathan digs deeper into the island and reveals an intricate plot by a fame-seeking killer (Damien Crosse) who will do anything for fans to praise him. The action-packed struggle between the truth and the end of the world has begun as the men brutally fight to survive "The Last Day."
Alongside Agassi, Helm, Aston and Crosse, "The Last Day" features performances by Rafael Carreras, Issac Jones, Bruno Fernandez Gutierrez and newcomer Adriano Carrasco.
“Following up on the amazing success of Assassin last year, we had to raise the stakes even higher. There’s nothing bigger than the threat of the end of the world,” said writer and co-director Marc MacNamara. “But apocalypse stories have been done many times before so we had to bring a fresh and exciting twist to the audience. The sex is incredibly intense because they are fucking like there’s no tomorrow and the action is thrilling and powerful to watch because on this beautiful island they are battling to survive. This is passion with reason, intensity with cause; it’s adventure and sex on a heightened level.”
“The story of 'The Last Day' is a heart-pounding ride that has you on the edge of your seat as it unfolds,” said Michael Lucas, president and CEO of Lucas Entertainment. “Damien Crosse brilliantly plays a sexy and crazed villain like no one else. And his protagonist Jonathan Agassi is a tough and hot fighter who uses everything he has, literally, in the battle of this smart and edgy thriller.”
Part 1 of "The Last Day" will be released to members of LucasEntertainment.com starting March 16. A behind-the-scenes production blog will be featured on LucasBlog.com starting next week and will lead up to the DVD release on March 30.
