New Fleshbot Makes Changes, Beginning With Layout

NEW YORK — The new Fleshbot.com, run by editor Lux Alptraum, is profiled in a Reuters report today.

The nine-year-old adult entertainment gossip and news blog was sold to Alptraum Feb. 1, and she immediately put in place change, according to the report. Alptraum is the long-time editor of the site.

To start with, Alptraum moved to the WordPress platform from Gawker Media’s custom publishing software, making it easier to standardize advertisements for the porn biz.

“For a variety of reasons, Gawker was looking to completely separate itself from Fleshbot,” Alptraum said.  “On our end, the restrictive nature of the Gawker CMS/layout wasn’t really conducive to our work.

"On our own, we’re more capable of focusing our layout/ad sales/tech strategies in ways that are optimized for an adult site, rather than trying to shoehorn Fleshbot into models designed for a broader, more mainstream stable of properties.”

Alptraum said she's retained a former Gawker Media sales exec to be CFO of Fleshbot LLC.

Fleshbot is “an incredibly valuable property that hasn’t been optimized,” she said, “and I’m excited about the possibilities for expansion.”
