LAS VEGAS -- SiteRipKing.com is no more, Corbin Fisher says.
Acting on a tip and fact research from colleagues at Porn Guardian, Corbin Fisher's legal team investigated the website and discovered that it included an unauthorized duplicate of the Corbin Fisher website.
The investigation led to discovery that the site also contained rips of other popular gay content websites available at SiteRipKing.
They included such sites as Sean Cody, Bel Ami, Chaos Men, Cody Cummings, Falcon Studios, Next Door Buddies, Kink.com and StraightGuyForGayEyes.com.
"We have zero tolerance for piracy of any kind," Corbin Fisher COO Brian Dunlap said. "Obviously, something this big was piracy on a huge scale and we had to do something about it."
While the owner of the site listed a false address in the website's Whois information, Randazza filed a motion for early discovery, a procedure giving the plaintiff the right to take discovery before the defendant is served.
"This is how you expose someone who thinks that the internet provides anonymity," Marc Randazza, general counsel of Corbin Fisher, said. "This case has had a great result so far, but you can't get there without great evidence. Porn Guardian gave us what we needed."
A federal judge granted the motion, giving Corbin Fisher the right to seek information about the owner of SiteRipKing.
Within moments of the order being issued, the SiteRipKing decided to abdicate his throne and shut down the website, Randazza said.
"I'm thrilled to hear this evening that SiteRipKing is no longer bleeding the adult community. Thank you, Corbin Fisher for stepping up and taking the lead to bring this guy down," said Bryan Ockert of Chaos Men. "And thank you Porn Guardian for showing content owners that working together against the scourge of digital piracy we can take back control of our content!"
