Sophie Dee Center of Welsh TV Controversy

LOS ANGELES — Adult star Sophie Dee is at the center of controversy in her homeland over a planned TV documentary by Wales’ largest TV station.

The star said some of her countrymen feel that a show featuring the reigning Miss FreeOnes is “trash TV.”

In a recent Wales Online story, politicians and cultural leaders reacted with outrage over Dee’s inclusion as the subject of “Soph Porn” — a new documentary series commissioned by Welsh-language channel S4C, or Channel Four Wales.

According to a channel spokesperson, the show is one in a series of programs “about people who lead interesting and successful lives in different fields.”

Also planned are a program about a drag artist named Tina Sparkle and a series on cage fighting.

The channel’s announced 2012 lineup reflects a departure from the more conservative, toned down content usually featured on the channel and has been criticized.

“I think this is pretty cool. I found out that I was in the paper today by a lot of my fans from back home. They were dying to see the TV documentary and said they couldn’t wait to see me in action. I even like some of the comments under the article. I think S4C should cater to different people with different views, Dee said.”

She added, “That’s what is truly in the public interest. I also find it funny how the article focuses on so-called ‘trash TV,’ but then the next article on the page is a gallery of Wales' sexiest women.”

Unlike many TV channels, S4C is publicly funded by taxpayers and is required to serve the public interest and provide Wales’ population of 3 million people with a diverse array of Welsh-language content.

Dee has recently performed in  Elegant Angel’s “Big Tit Fanatic,” “Ass Masterpiece Vol. 7” for Naughty America and “Sophie Dee's Getting That Pussy” for Pulse Pictures.
