Blood is the New Black Collaborates With Adult Film Star Kimberly Kane

LOS ANGELES — Blood is the New Black (BITNB) announced its collaboration with Los Angeles based adult film star and director Kimberly Kane.

The Blood is the New Black x Kimberly Kane collaboration features a photo tee with the image of actress Devi Lynne nude, wrapped in chains.

Blood is the New Black is known to work with photographers, fine artists, illustrators, conceptual artists and painters. The company said working with an artist who uses her own body as a medium for art is a natural progression for the line.

Maxim Magazine named Kane one of the Top 12 Women in Porn in 2010.

Kane cites influences such as Richard Kern, Helmut Newton and Araki Nobuyoshi for her photography.

Curator and Owner Mitra Khayyam said, “pushing boundaries has always been a part of the fashion industry. Whether it's raising and lower hemlines, contorting silhouettes, or the graphics we choose to put on our T-shirts. Working with Kimberly has been like working with any of the other artists in our fold, she is a true professional.”

Kane said she is thrilled to be part of the BITNB family, saying, "it's always been a dream of mine to have my photography on T shirts. So when I found BITNB I was blown away by the design and style of their shirts. I took a chance and approached Mitra about doing a collab with a 'known pervert' like myself and she took a chance on me. I'm honored to be one of the artists she sees something special in."

Kane will continue to collaborate with the brand, with two more designs planned for release in 2011.

Blood is the New Black tees are available in both men's and women's bodies ranging from a one-size slouchy boyfriend tee for women to a men’s tank top. All Blood is the New Black tees are sewn, dyed, and printed with care in Los Angeles.

In addition to the Kimberly Kane collaboration, Blood is the New Black will be releasing more than 100 designs by 30-something international artists as part of their Summer ’11 season.

The tees will be available in stores as of May 15 and retail for $44–50.
