CalExotics Encourages Industry Support for Japanese Relief Effort

CHINO, Calif. — CalExotics is asking for industry support for the Japan earthquake and tsunami relief effort.

“We've always made it a point to reach out a helping hand to others in their hour of need, and our friends, retailers and customers in Japan need it now more than ever," CalExotics Founder and President Susan Colvin said. "I am especially asking every adult toy company or retailer, big and small, to get involved in some way to help the Japanese relief effort. Friends help friends."

According to the company, CalExotics and Colvin have already made a significant contribution to the Japanese relief effort being coordinated in the U.S. by the American Red Cross.

"As the world gets smaller, business connections become more personal," Colvin said. "They've become friends over the years, and I know other companies feel the same way too. It's time for us all to show our support in their time of need."

Toronto-based e-retailer PinkCherry today announced it will donate $10 from the sale of each highlighted product on both their Canadian and American sites will go directly to the relief efforts through the Red Cross.

“We are using some of our bestselling most popular products for this event as we really want to raise as much money as possible,” PinkCherry CEO Daniel Freedman said. “We are in the business of making people happy so it makes sense that we give back where we can.”

The American Red Cross has already been contributing to its main partner in the country, the Japanese Red Cross, to help with their medical and relief activities.

The American Red Cross is one of many national organizations that are contributing to relief efforts. Other organizations include the International Medical Corps, Unicef and Save the Children.
