Buzz About New Porn Movie App Causing iPhone, iPad Stir

CYBERSPACE — Buzz about a new app that allows users to watch movies on Apple’s iPhone and iPad — including porn — has created a stir in cyberspace today.

Apple has made it clear that it has a zero tolerance policy concerning adult apps for its iOS devices.

But despite web chatter claiming that Big Star Movie's streaming app lets users watch porn, the download doesn't directly include adult material on the app, available at Apple's App Store.

It's The Big Star Movies You Demand online site however, that does include adult movies.

The service costs $4.99 after a 30-day free trial and can stream a selection of movies for Apple’s devices via its BigStar.tv site HTML5 web video player (or via Safari). But like any website, Big Star's porn is viewed on a mobile device via a web browser.

A company spokesperson told the Mobile Beat website, “As far as adult content is concerned, they are not available via the app – the $4.99 subscription doesn’t include it — but those films can be accessed and played via the web HTML 5 video player and Safari on both the iPhone and iPad. It's not ideal — and maybe not worth mentioning — but that’s how one can work around it.”

Although some blog posts claim most of the adult films on Big Star's site are R-rated, digging into the site’s “explicit” movies category offers "NC-17-rated" titles like Jim Power’s “Cheating Housewives # 7,” Smash Pictures’ “Easy Prey # 2” and Visage Film's "Fuck Me In The Ass And Say That You Love Me" among others.
