CBS Affiliate Airs Part 2 Tonight on the Love Ranch

LOS ANGELES — CBS affiliate KCAL-TV will feature Part 2 of a special report tonight about an Iraq war hero who returned to the U.S. to begin a new life as a legal prostitute at Dennis Hof’s Love Ranch brothel in Carson City, Nev.

The special, titled "An Iraqi War Hero’s Journey From Battling In Baghdad to Bangin’ in a Brothel," follows the story of Air Force Amber and what led her to the Love Ranch Brothel.

A KCAL TV news crew spent weeks in Carson City and California filming and interviewing Air Force Amber, a 22-year-old military vet, who after returning to the U.S. to a hero’s welcome, found herself without a home, a job, or a future — until she was taken in by the Love Ranch.

“The story of Air Force Amber is incredibly moving," said Marc Medoff, Love Ranch general manager.

"From the personal challenges she faced growing up on the West Coast, to making the incredibly brave decision to enlist in the U.S. Air Force, to putting her life on the line for her country, to now starting a new life here at the Love Ranch.

"After she came back to the U.S. in the middle of this horrific recession, which left this war hero homeless and penniless. Indeed in the short amount of time that Amber has been living and working here at the Love Ranch, she has already become one of our stars, loved by fellow working girls and customers alike. We are proud of Amber’s service to her country, and we are proud to have her as a cherished member of the Love Ranch family.”

The KCAL-TV report is the latest in a string of mainstream media spotlights on the Love Ranch, which is the sister brothel to the Moonlite Bunny Ranch.

Last week the women of the Love Ranch were featured on a CBS-TV special report and the Love Ranch was also recently highlighted on the cover of the LA Weekly, examining the lives and fortunes of a number of prostitutes who toil at the brothel to support their families, fund higher education and pay their bills.

The KCAL-TV news segment will air in Los Angeles at 10 p.m. PST on Channel 9 — and then be aired around the country over the next several days.
