NakedSword.com Launches Overseas VOD Site

SAN FRANCISCO — Gay video-on-demand provider NakedSword.com is going gay on a global scale with the launch of NakedPeepShow.com, a new site geared specifically toward the gay population outside the U.S.

NakedSword.com CTO Greg Lindberg said the company took its time prior to launching overseas.

“Last year we watched as a number of our VOD competitors prematurely rushed out localized sites,” Lindberg said. “Rather than push out an ineffective product, we studied the market and created a geo-targeted video site with multilingual billing provider Password-by-Phone.”

The Password-by-Phone service enables users to obtain site passwords over the telephone. A surfer dials the number listed on a partner site, listens to a 5-minute message and then is granted a 30-minute pass to the site’s contents.

By using the Password-by-Phone network, NakedPeepsShow will be able to offer its content in more than 35 languages and 240 countries, with localized customer support and affiliate payouts.

Because many foreign visitors will access NakedSword’s content via the new site, CEO Tim Valenti said a prominent link to NakedSword.com also would be featured on the page, so as not to take away from existing traffic to the company’s flagship site.

NakedSword.com currently boasts an online library of roughly 3,500 videos, including full-length titles from more than 100 studios such as Falcon, Titan, Rascal, COLT, Hot House, Lucas Entertainment, Raging Stallion and Jet Set.

“Our responsibilities are to our customers and affiliates,” Valenti said. “This is a great way for affiliates with foreign traffic to promote the unrivalled content of NakedSword.com and to make more money doing it than ever before.”
