CineKink Brings Kinky Film Festival to L.A.

NEW YORK — CineKink announced that it is bringing its annual national tour to Los Angeles, Oct. 8-10.

Described as the kinky film festival, the event will include screenings of a variety of films with sexual diversity in venues including the Downtown Independent and the Echo Park Film Center.

The event producers said the films will include works ranging from documentary to drama, comedy to experimental, mildly spicy to quite explicit — “and everything in between.”

The festival kicks off on Oct. 8 at the Echo Park Film Center at 1200 Alvarado St. with a collection of past festival offerings culled from CineKink’s roster of Los Angeles-based alumni filmmakers including the boylesque film “Waxie Moon.”

On Oct. 9 the action moves to the Downtown Independent at 251 S. Main St. for a full day of screenings and celebration featuring talent from today's adult cinema, a film short program that culminates with the “CineKink Under The Stars” mixer, live performances and a raffle.

The producers said the closing day returns to the Echo Park Film Center for a screening of the film “My Sexuality: A Sensory Experience” that focuses on five women from different backgrounds, sexual preferences and past experiences as they experiment with activities intended to boost both sense of self and sexuality.

The weekend festival rounds out with a film described as a dark comic tale of an apathetic nurse who moonlights as a dominatrix, her aspiring model roommate and the sad, strange world in which they live.

Ticket prices for each regular screening are $10 or $8 in advance. Admission to the Rooftop Celebration is $10 or via a ticket stub to any of the Los Angeles screenings.

An all-access pass is also available and includes admission to all screenings and the rooftop celebration for $40 ($30 for seniors and students, $25 for CineKinksters).

National sponsors for the event include B-Side Entertainment, MakeLoveNotPorn, National Coalition for Sexual Freedom, njoy, Scarleteen and Tied Up Events. Local sponsors include the Downtown Independent, Echo Park Film Center, LA After Dark and Naked City LA.
