Adult DVD Empire VOD Removes Licensing

WARRENDALE, Pa. — Adult DVD Empire has removed the restrictions and licensing processes that come with downloading videos online.

The company said it is resulting in tremendously improved usability for VOD customers.

Adult DVD Empire also is taking its restriction-free initiative one step further by transitioning complete studios as a whole to DRM-frees — beginning with Zero Tolerance, Elegant Angel, Wicked Pictures, New Sensations and Vivid. The studios’ entire catalog of adult movie downloads-to-own are now available completely restriction-free.

The company said that its most frequent VOD customer complaints that inspired the initiative related directly to confusion regarding the required licensing process, as well as not being able to watch purchased downloads anywhere, on any computer and more specifically on a Mac.

"Moving to DRM-free for our download-to-owns was a no-brainer for us,” said David Walter, Adult DVD Empire director of digital delivery. “We have always strived to provide the best customer experience in video-on-demand and to expand our service to the broadest customer base possible. This is just a natural progression for our VOD service and the industry as a whole, and the response to DRM-free from both customers and participating studios has been outstanding."

The download-to-own VOD titles that have had their licensing removed are stamped with a seal of “DRM FREE.” To see the complete collection of titles, visit AdultDVDEmpire.com/drmfree.
