Webmaster Access Europe Wraps Up

AMSTERDAM —Webmaster Access Europe has come to a close, but the bonds formed over effective networking and educational seminars held at the three-day event are sure to press on in the online adult business world.

Webmasters from around the globe were welcomed Friday with a cocktail reception meet-and-greet and a welcome party hosted by Cybersocket and Epoch.

Saturday kicked off early with valuable seminars and speed networking. In the afternoon, attendees got a chance to relax with a cocktail bar sponsored by MojoHost.

The “meat and potatoes” of the event took place Sunday with seminars on two of the most important topics impacting adult enterprises today — monetizing traffic and billing.

The traffic seminar discussed mobile traffic as the next frontier, however panelists agreed that it would take more time before it reaches critical mass.

In terms of monetization, the panel agreed that surfers must be presented with targeted content based on their preferences and operators must provide as many payment options as possible to maximize the likelihood of a sale.

In their forecast, panelists agreed that the next type of traffic magnet would be live interactive sites that offer highly accessible free teaser entertainment. Traffic will not be dominated by free prerecorded content on tube sites.

The billing seminar discussed the top billing option in Europe, which came down to credit cards, ACH and mobile billing, which panelists called the next big thing in adult billing.

The panelists recommended operators to provide as many payment options as possible that are geo-targeted and translated and to use billing companies that have risk management expertise, as affiliate fraud has become a significant problem.

The panel also discussed the future of DirectDebit in Europe with billing companies setting their sights on developing a recurring option.

The final day of Webmaster Access Europe continued with another round of speed networking and a cocktail bar sponsored by XBIZ gave attendees a chance to say their goodbyes.

The show took place at the Radisson SAS Hotel in Amsterdam. The luxurious hotel, located in Amsterdam’s historical district, is made up of several renovated 18th-century merchant houses, a former paper factory and a 19th-century vicarage, all connected by a modern glass atrium lobby with a mezzanine garden.
