Mallick Talks 'Middle Men' With Pollak

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — Producer Christopher Mallick is interviewed by comedian/actor Kevin Pollak for the online "Kevin Pollak's Chat Show" about his recently-wrapped film "Middle Men," which features Pollak.

In the interview, Mallick talks about his experiences in the business world that led him to the adult Internet, utilizing the computer code that enabled people to use their credit cards to buy things online.

"It changed the universe as we know it," Pollak says.

In one exchange, Mallick explains the title of the movie.

"Almost everyone on the Internet is a middle man, in some way, shape or form," Mallick says. "Unless you're in the on-camera content, or the end user, you're in the middle somewhere. You're delivering data over the pipes, you're taking an online check, you're running the servers that deliver the content. The entire Internet is made up of middle men."

The interview also includes a trailer for the film.

"Middle Men" is a fictionalized comedy, based on Mallick's own experiences, about a straight-laced businessman who builds the first online billing company dealing exclusively with adult entertainment — and finds himself caught between the Russian mob, a 23-year-old porn star and the FBI. The film was directed by George Gallo, who wrote the cult hit "Midnight Run," and written by Gallo and Andy Weiss. The film features Luke Wilson, Giovanni Ribisi, Gabriel Macht, James Caan, Kelsey Grammer, Robert Forster and John Ashton.
