College Boys Live Doc Wins Outfest Award

HOLLYWOOD, Calif. — The director of a documentary chronicling the drama surrounding models and crew from all-male reality website CollegeBoysLive.com has picked up a film festival award.

"College Boys Live" helmer George O'Donnell won the Outfest 2009 Special Programming Award for Emerging Talent sponsored by Kodak. Outfest is the Los Angeles LGBT film festival.

The Outfest 2009 Awards were presented on July 19 at the Hollywood & Highland entertainment complex in Hollywood. Drag performer Momma served as emcee.

"You may have paid to watch the sexy webcams, but you haven't really gone inside this infamous online party house until you see George O'Donnell's fascinating documentary," reads the film's Outfest program blurb.

"Meet 'house mothers' Zac and Jonathan and their teen and twentysomething tenants — troublemaker J.C., heartbreaker Tim and fresh-out-of-the-closet Chuck — then see what happens when their neighbors rally to kick them out. Given the voyeuristic nature of documentary filmmaking, voyeurism itself makes for a compelling subject in this unpredictable and entertaining film."

"College Boys Live" was produced by Keyknowpix Productions and has been making the film festival rounds throughout the summer months. It had its world premiere in early June at Newfest, the New York LGBT film festival.
