Gmunder Indulges in 'Ultimate Falcon' Photobook

BERLIN — Publishing and distribution house Bruno Gmunder is celebrating one of gay adult’s venerable companies with the lavish 400-page photobook "Ultimate Falcon."

The tome features "the finest pin-up photography" and relates the history of Falcon as well as "a good part about gay history itself," a Gmunder rep said.

The late Falcon Entertainment founder Chuck Holmes "made the decision to promote his movies by presenting glamour photos of his actors in various magazines," the rep said.

"The look that was shaped with these pictures is by now legendary and an unmistakable signature: male, muscular dreams-come-true, portrayed in high-gloss style."

Performers featured on the cover beneath the Falcon logo include bodybuilder Matthew Rush, Brent Corrigan (in his "Fox Ryder" guise for the "Velvet Mafia" films) and gay erotica legends Casey Donovan and Al Parker from the 1979 classic "The Other Side of Aspen."

Compiling "Ultimate Falcon" was a "mammoth task but we rose to the challenge," the rep said. "These 400 pages of male flawlessness prove in a spectacular way that the exciting blend of sex appeal with a glamourous aesthetic has often been copied but never reached by anyone but Falcon."

"Ultimate Falcon" will hit bookshelves in the European Union in August and is scheduled for release in the U.S. in October.

In related news, this month Gmunder was slated to release "Shooting Male" from noted shutterbug Eric Schwabel with Channel 1 Releasing exclusive Johnny Hazzard as cover model; and "Playing Hard to Get" whose subject includes performers featured on the popular pro/am online studio CorbinFisher.com.

The publisher's previous Falcon-branded photobook is "Champions" which features exclusive performer Erik Rhodes on the cover and draws from the studio's recent output. It was released to the wholesale market in May.
