Aiden Shaw Is 'Wasted' in New Novel

PHILADELPHIA — A popular Aiden Shaw novel has been re-released by boutique imprint Running Press. "Wasted" is a tale of sexual excess set in the hedonistic London nightclub scene and rounds out the "Brutal" trilogy of books penned by Shaw, a retired gay adult performer.

The "gritty and stimulating" book, first published in 2002, is "set in the London clubs so vividly characterized in his previous novels," the publisher said. "Reintroducing David, Joe, Ryan and the disturbed Flora, 'Wasted' brings the trilogy to a rousing and unexpected climax."

Shaw's most recent book was a memoir, "My Undoing: Love in the Thick of Sex, Drugs, Pornography, and Prostitution" (Carroll & Graf, 2006). Prior installments in the "Brutal" trilogy include "Boundaries," first published in 1999 by the Millivres Prowler Group, and "Brutal: Uncut," originally published in 1996 and re-released by Running Press last year.

A second memoir — "Sordid Truths: Selling My Innocence for a Taste of Stardom" — is expected later this year from Alyson Books.

Shaw's career in gay adult includes a number of critically acclaimed titles between 1992 and 1995, among them "The Backroom," "Hot Pursuit" and "Summer Buddies" (all for Falcon Studios).

Earlier this decade, Shaw embarked on a brief, highly publicized comeback that included "Descent" and "Perfect Fit" for Hot House Entertainment, as well as "Addiction Part 1" and "Hot Wired 2" for Falcon.

Running Press is an imprint of the Perseus Books Group and has produced a number of tomes by and about the gay adult industry.

Recently they published "Bigger Than Life: The History of Gay Adult Cinema from Beefcake to Hardcore" by Jeffrey Escoffier, and last summer came out with autobiographies penned by retired performers Blue Blake and Bobby Blake.
