Jack Lawrence Joining Charity Bike Ride

Tod Hunter
WOODLAND HILLS, Calif. — Performer Jack Lawrence will participate in the AIDS/LifeCycle ride May 31-June 6. Lawrence will bicycle 545 miles from San Francisco to Los Angeles along with more than 3,000 other cyclists to raise funds and awareness for programs to help end HIV and AIDS.

Each of the riders will have raised at least $3,000 for HIV- and AIDS-related charities.

"I grew up in the Castro district in San Francisco," Lawrence told XBIZ. "I'm straight, but we're all family. It's a worthy cause."

Lawrence also will represent AIM Healthcare Foundation as their press and public relations liaison for this event.

"He'll be doing some interviews on the road," AIM clinic administrator Brooke Hunter told XBIZ. "He's doing what he can to support AIM and AIDS testing."
