This will be the 34th Adam & Eve retail store. The stores operate in 11 states, including 11 in North Carolina, where Adam & Eve has its headquarters. The company originally owned its branded retail stores when it started them in 2000, but moved to franchising in 2004-2005, and all stores are now franchised.
The stores are aimed at women and couples, with as many as 13,000 products including lingerie, clubwear, dancewear, accessories, adult novelties. games and DVDs.
"They're still in the business of stocking, and are still placing merchandise orders," Nolan Williams, director of franchise store development at Adam & Eve Franchise Corporation, told XBIZ.
"Novelties and videos flow like water, but the soft goods like lingerie take some time, especially since a lot of it comes from California. It should be quite a nice store when it opens."
The 3,800-square-foot store will reflect the current Adam & Eve store model with layout and fixturing, Williams said.
The store is located at 119 Wilmington Hwy. The store will be open seven days a week, but precise hours have not been determined.
