Web Host Industry Review Offers Digital Edition

TORONTO – Web hosting industry trade publication the Web Host Industry Review has announced that it is working with digital publishing technology from Texterity to deliver the new digital edition of WHIR magazine, the organization's bi-monthly print publication.

Using Texterity's Published Web Format, WHIR magazine's digital edition will reproduce all the content from the magazine, with content and advertisements enhanced with rich media such as video, audio and animation, as well as direct clickable links to related online content and advertiser websites. The PWF format is fast loading and easily readable through a web browser, enabling readers to zoom, print or send pages to friends. They can also save a copy for later offline reading.

The digital edition is accessible to both subscribers and non-subscribers of the print magazine. Containing every page of the printed edition, it can provide readers with supplemental online material and may serve as an alternative to paying shipping costs for International subscribers.

Advertisers in the magazine's print edition will benefit from the added value of interactive rich media ads in the digital edition at no added cost to their existing ads.

"We are no strangers to online publishing at the WHIR. TheWHIR.com is the world's most widely read source of Web hosting news and commentary," Stephen Mayhew, publisher of the Web Host Industry Review said. "From our XML news feeds to our WHIR TV flash video news broadcast, we're always at the cutting edge of Internet publishing, and we're happy to be working with Texterity to bring our print edition online in such a highly accessible, highly readable format."

"The WHIR's audience is made up of highly sophisticated Internet users," Martin Hensel, president of Texterity, said. "And the ability to access content online in a clickable, enhanced format is certain to appeal to them. We're pleased to be able to help the WHIR expand its Internet properties to include the WHIR magazine digital edition."
