Male Spectrum Gives Support to Human Rights Campaign

CYBERSPACE — Adult gay studio Male Spectrum has signed on as a sponsor of the Human Rights Campaign with an initial donation of $2,500 to assist in the organization’s fight against discrimination.

“We feel it’s important to give back whenever we can, and the HRC is a great cause that we believe in supporting,” said Kim Kyser, Male Spectrum brand and product manager. “It’s equal human rights for everyone, a very basic principle that should not be in debate. The HRC does amazing work, and we’re thrilled they are open to our support and contributions.”

Founded in 1980, the Human Rights Campaign calls itself the largest national lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender civil rights organization, with more than 750,000 members and supporters nationwide.

Lea Busick, director of sales and marketing for Male Spectrum’s subscription websites, said that the current judicial and legislative wrangling over laws — like the one established by California’s Proposition 8, which defined marriage in California as being only between a man and a woman — makes it urgent to support organizations like the HRC.

“With the continued battle for equal marriage rights playing their way out in the California supreme court, and specifically with the knowledge of special interest groups pouring in money to keep GLBT equal rights from becoming reality, we at Male Spectrum feel there is more of a need than ever for people to stand up and show their support of equality for all,” Busick said. “Our sponsorship of the HRC illustrates our commitment to helping assuage the hate and intolerance fostered by the conservative right and to advocate on issues of justice and fairness, including marriage, for the GLBT community.”

Male Spectrum is a relatively new brand from a company that has been promoting subscription adult websites since 1997.Male Spectrum has a DVD series and a portfolio of subscription websites including one with material for mobile devices, iMaleSpectrumPass.
