Acme Andersson, Devan Cypher Team to Launch Rising Star PR

VENICE, Calif. — Two adult entertainment industry veterans have joined forces to launch a boutique public relations firm called Rising Star PR. The new PR agency, headed by Devan Cypher and Acme Andersson, will focus on promoting adult talent.

The partnership was announced today at the XBIZ State of the Industry Conference.

Rising Star PR was founded by Cypher in 2008 and now veteran journalist Andersson has joined the fold. Keeping the shrinking economy in mind, Rising Star’s efforts are aimed at cost effective talent representation.

"Whether a girl is has been in the industry six minutes or six years, we have a reasonable plan to get them the attention they need to help boost their career during these tough times," explained publicist, journalist and award-winning director Cypher.

"With piracy up and the worst economy in my lifetime, people are in desperate need of relief," Cypher continued. "Now more than ever girls need to stand out if they are going to get noticed and survive in this industry."

The duo aims to promote their clients to both industry trade magazines and adult consumer publications. Andersson said the company plans to offer reasonable rates and realistic results.

"The question is not whether you can afford to promote yourself, but how can you afford not to?" Andersson said. "It's a competitive industry not just for the producers and agents, but also for the talent. It's important that they keep their names and faces out there in order to maximize their potential."

We can't promise a girl she'll be on the Howard Stern Show next week," Andersson said, "but we can help them brand themselves so that these opportunities are attainable. If a performer has what it takes, we can help them maximize their potential."

The couple brings a wealth of media experience to their new venture. Andersson has worked as the editor of Celebrity Skin, Hawk and AVN and writes regularly for XBIZ, Club, Cheri, High Society, Finally Legal and other magazines. Cypher’s writing has appeared in XBIZ, AVN, Hustler, Club, High Society, Oui, Velvet, Fleshbot.com, Fluffersmut.com, HardcoreGossip.com and others.

Andersson’s and Cypher’s combined public relations resume includes repping companies like Sin City, HellHouse, Metro, Shane's World, Kick Ass Pictures and Tru Filth, as well as individual projects for industry superstars Justine Joli, Kayden Kross and Tory Lane.
