FyreTV Debuts Wireless IPTV Set-Top Box

LAS VEGAS — FyreTV on Friday rolled out its new wireless IPTV set-top box for streaming high-def adult content.

The product, called the BoXXX, replaces the previous set-top box model that has been on the market for a year, Fyre spokesman David Jones told XBIZ.

“It’s much smaller, about half the size at six inches by seven inches, and requires a six-digit pin to access the start screen or any content,” Jones said from the Adult Entertainment Expo floor, where the company has a 50’x50’ booth that has been coined the “Fyre Station,” complete with stripper “Fyre” poles.

Jones said that the production of wireless units came about after studies with its current 10,000 customers revealed that most users have broadband access in their living room or office, but not in the bedroom where they generally prefer to set up their set-top box.

“The BoXXX is so much more discreet, and we’re excited over the first-ever wireless IPTV set-top BoXXX for adult content,” Jones said.

The new FyreTV BoXXX is wireless 802.11 B and G and can take direct Ethernet input. It connects to displays by HDMI, S-video, composite or component and also optical audio.

With high-speed Internet connectivity, the FyreTV BoXXX delivers DVD-quality content and subscribers have the ability to switch between three streaming quality levels on the fly, directly from the BoXXX’s remote control.

FyreTV plans on shipping the BoXXX today with any new subscription made at FyreTV.com. Monthly subscription charges cost $9.95, not including studio packages, which range from $6.99 to $39.99 depending on the content house and the number of movies made available.

FyreTV has locked distribution agreements with dozens of studios, including AcidRain, Adam&Eve Pictures, CherryBoXXX, JM Productions, Vivid Entertainment, Venom Digital Media, West Coast, Wicked Pictures, Woodman Entertainment and Zero Tolerance, among others.
