Vista Valley PTA
A behind-the-curtains look at scandals in small-town suburbia. Jessie St. James is the new English teacher at Vista Valley High, and her no-nonsense attitude isn't making points with her students. Creepy religious fanatic Jamie Gillis attacks a hooker after hiring them to watch him masturbate, and walks in on daughter Sharon Kane while she dresses. Juliet Anderson tries to lay down the law with her daughter Dorothy LeMay, who points out that mom is a bit slutty herself. Kay Parker plays teasing games with her husband.

Revelatory flashbacks define the characters at a parent-teacher conference. Gillis wonders if daughter Kane is a virgin and investigates. Anderson is amenable to being seduced by mechanic John Leslie, and Leslie is amenable to getting it on with LeMay for a second course.

When St. James takes offense at Richard Pacheco's lurid vacation essay and they decide to discuss it over coffee, the film leads to a surprise ending.

Director Spinelli is making a dramatic movie with some heavy elements, not a collection of sex scenes. Excellent cinematography by Jack Remy adds a professional look to the film.

Synopsis:

JESIE ST. JAMES is the next in a long line of teachers to take on a troubled class of high schoolers in a beautiful small town with a beautiful suburban exterior that hides an underbelly of dysfunctional relationships, sexual deviancy and profound rebellion. Knowing that the last two teachers in her position were raped, Ms. Martin implements her strong personality in a bold attempt to bring order to the town.
