Workplace Safety

Diane Duke
In the past year, a handful of California adult businesses have been cited for workplace safety violations. While much of the focus has been on the production side of the industry, if you have a business with employees, you’ll want to make sure you are aware of your responsibilities.

FSC is currently working with workplace safety specialist Jeff DeSormeau to develop a basic workplace safety manual. This basic manual will highlight some of the OSHA mandates that adult businesses have in providing a safe workplace environment. The manual will not be a workplace safety plan for businesses, as safety plans are specific to each individual business. What the manual will do is to help businesses identify the components necessary to develop their own plans.

We hope to have this project complete by year’s end. The manual will be offered free to FSC members. We will follow up with additional OSHA news, information and resources as the process unfolds.
