Q&A: Allie Eve Knox Doms Fetish, Crypto Camming

Digital streams of crypto riches ignite in an aura of haloed majesty, whirling about Allie Eve Knox with all the mystique of a sorceress.

And all of that pulsating money, all of that glorious wealth bathes traditional billing structures in controversial flames as it pours over her like honey on a queen bee.

I’m kind of like the secret love child of Ozzy Osbourne and Martha Stewart. My brand is a mix of extremes: ridiculousness, insanity, humor, blunt force honesty and excess.

She is, after all, one of the illustrious SpankChain advisors, a standard-bearer tuned in to the needs and desires of her realm. Like the Fates of ancient myth, she stands side by side with other movers and shakers in the crypto game, repping the dames and dons of the biz.

Not that she would ever dream of turning down standard currency tributes, as any of her finsubs will attest, for they shower her with enough passion to make of her a living Fort Knox.

And so, to unlock the treasure trove of knowledge from the 2018 XBIZ Best Fetish Cam Model, whose scintillating clips adorn the cyberspace galleries of iWantClips, XBIZ embraced Knox’s dominant spirit in this exclusive interview.

XBIZ: What led you to become a cam model and clip artist?

Knox: In 2014, I had just graduated from grad school, I was working full-time and broke as fuck and I had over 100K in student loans. I had worked with Playboy for a while and decided to try their cam site out. I started camming in the afternoons when I would get home from work and loved every second of it. The ability to make money from my bedroom was amazing.

I started shooting porn in 2015 to drive some traffic to my brand and then realized that the real money was in shooting my own clips and transitioned into a fetish artist by the end of that year. I have been shooting tons of pretty weird fetish content ever since!

XBIZ: Describe the "Allie Eve Knox" brand in a nutshell.

Knox: I'm kind of like the secret love child of Ozzy Osbourne and Martha Stewart. My brand is a mix of extremes: ridiculousness, insanity, humor, blunt force honesty and excess. I'm this kinky passionate bitch that is dominant, charming and has a big ass.

I am also a very committed marijuana enthusiast, haha. I made a decision to capitalize on the super authentic parts of my personality and it just worked.

I realized early on that I wasn't going to be able to stand out in the see of skinny blondes so I made a conscious effort to sell my personality, my wit and my dramatics. Luckily, my fan base is full of horny men that love to be screamed at, so it just works.

XBIZ: How do you split your time between clips and camming?

Knox: For the last year, I have focused more on clip making. I love being able to sit by the pool or go shopping while still making money. I also really enjoy the clip making process … from writing ideas to shooting to editing. I love the whole bit.

Camming is much different since it is live and interactive. I get to have more laid back fun there and don't have to be so thoughtful. I can just have a chat about tacos or dogs and it just feels so fun and easy.

XBIZ: What are your preferred platforms for selling content? Why?

Knox: My favorite place to sell my content is iWantClips. They have an amazing site, super helpful team members and really rich and submissive clientele (which are my favorite, obviously). I have four different sites on their platform so I can cater to four different types of viewers.

They are also the clip site with the largest payout, which is super important to me since I want every single penny I can get my hands on. I am super thankful for the promotion and the love given to me by the IWC team over the years. They treat me like a goddess and continuously impress me with their commitment to their artists.

XBIZ: Talk about your approach to social media marketing.

Knox: Ugh, I hate social media so much and can't wait for the day that I can delete every fucking app and just sit obliviously alone in my home. But I know that it is a necessary evil so I keep on posting. I honestly only keep up with it to follow hot chicks, scream at idiots and to occasionally promote whatever I am selling.

I super rarely tweet nudes, I screen and block at least 40 percent of my Twitter followers and I'm on my third Instagram account (after being shut down the two previous times). I have an everyday life SnapChat, a kik for wallet drains and I Skype with a handful of super dedicated long-term subs.

XBIZ: What are the unique opportunities and challenges of being a fetish cam model?

Knox: Being a fetish model is the greatest and I wish that I would have discovered the light sooner. I get to shoot weird and fun things. I get to explore strange kinks. The clientele is much more loyal and obedient.

There are not a lot of hot chicks doing weird shit so I definitely strategically fill the void a lot. I like to film obscure fetishes that aren't super popular ... yet. So I get in, build a following and then eventually turn them all into finsubs, haha.

XBIZ: How did you get involved with crypto?

Knox: I started accepting Bitcoin in 2014 after my PayPal account got shut down for being in adult. A very cool dude came into my cam room and taught me everything about it and then sent me my first Bitcoin payment.

I then shot an episode of “Dark Net” on Showtime about using crypto for sex work (since many people were not using it then) and my crypto fan base blew up. Clients could scan my QR code on the episode and send me money instantly and it was amazing! I was able to keep 100 percent of my earnings and the payments could not be canceled.

I held onto my bitcoins until the market blew up in 2017 and sold a ton near the peak. Right around this time, I heard about SpankChain and knew that this was going to be a solution to some of sex workers’ problems. I emailed the co-founder and sent him a job description for a potential position within the company and a few months later, they hired me.

I have been consulting on the products (just launched our cam site, now working on our payment portal and our clip site), manage model relations and represent the company at industry events. I am super proud to be part of their team.

XBIZ: What was it like being a panelist at XBIZ Miami this year and winning Best Fetish Cam Model at the 2018 XBIZ Cam Awards?

Knox: Being a panelist at XBIZ Miami and then XBIZ Berlin was really interesting. Looking out into the crowd and having people nod when I say something is a cool feeling because it's then I realize that I actually have some decent advice after all these years and I might actually really be on to something, haha.

Winning Best Fetish Cam Model this year actually completely caught me off guard. I have been nominated a ton of times but only rarely win anything. Also, I had attempted to bait two XBIZ staff members by asking if I could sit in the balcony (very far away from the stage) and tried to see if they would point me in the direction closer to the stage and both didn't bite so I felt certain I had not won.

When they called my name, I had to run down from the second floor, run across the first floor and then run back up to the other side of the second floor. I couldn't breathe, couldn't think and was just so excited that I was about to hug Scout, my No. 1 cam girl crush. So, I hugged the cute girl, thanked the rich men and my friends and then promptly left the stage and went to sleep, since it was well past my bedtime, haha.

XBIZ: Any advice for aspiring cam models and clip artists?

Knox: My advice for models and artists is to try super, duper hard for a long time. It could take years to make a following, so don't give up. It will be discouraging and sometimes things will suck. A lot. They will suck a whole lot. But sometimes things will be very fucking cool and you will love this job.

I know when it was slow on cam, I would make a clip. And when I wouldn't sell a clip that I worked hard on, I would get on cam and promote the hell out of that clip. I would make teaser commercial breaks, have nightly video specials, and would blast it on every social media platform I had until people bought it.

I would also say never be afraid to try different stuff. One of my top selling videos was shot as a joke and people bought the shit out of that video because it was different than most things on clip sites. Use every opportunity to film … in the bathtub, eating dinner, smoking a joint … shoot everything!

XBIZ: Give us a glimpse of your ambitions for the upcoming year and beyond.

Knox: This upcoming year, I plan on filming a ton of clips, launching new products with SpankChain and camming with a more consistent schedule. I would love to also get into the cannabis game so I'm starting to put my feelers out…

Growing Site Revenue Under Ever-Changing Compliance Rules

Over the past year, many merchants have reported earnings that were flat or even a bit down. This is due to three main factors: age verification regulations, click-to-cancel rules, and banks backing away from cross-sales due to regulatory requirements and the rollout of the Visa Acquiring Monitoring Program (VAMP).
