Q&A: XBIZ Best Cosplay Cam Model Catjira Gets Geeky … and Freaky!

Q&A: XBIZ Best Cosplay Cam Model Catjira Gets Geeky … and Freaky!

Fantasy aflame, Catjira unfurls solar rays from her shoulders, wrapped in as much starlit darkness as she is haloed in celestial auroras. She is a shapeshifter, spinning dreams and nightmares into intoxicating eroticism, flashing fangs and batting faerie dust eyelashes with mercurial splendor.

The 2017 XBIZ Best Cosplay Cam Model is a mistress of mischief and mayhem on MyFreeCams.com, where she is a whirling dervish of kaleidoscopic silks spinning like nebulas lost in the haze of seduction.

I always like to surprise people with what I’m planning. I like being authentic, but it’s pretty easy to figure out what I’m doing cause it’s usually a movie, TV show, book or video game that I’m super into.

Her hands bejeweled in decadent rubies and sapphires, she is divine royalty, but with a flick of the wrist, those fingers extend into blood-drenched claws, the scales of a murderess uncoiling like a diabolical serpent.

To waltz into her gaze, is to enter the morphing labyrinth of an otherworldly ballroom, where oil paintings melt into solid marble, flashing chandeliers ignite waterfalls of sparks and musical harmonies incarnate as phosphorous notes. Through the liquid mirrors of camming, she drowns her viewers in ice-fires of paradox, at once doe-eyed vulnerable and deadly as a siren.

And from the mainstream fabrics of pop culture fascination, she crafts hand-spun works of art, with masquerade-worthy faces and elaborately hewn costuming. From the villainous Negan in “The Walking Dead” to the tomb-raiding Lara Croft to the flirty madness of Harley Quinn to the gritty “Gangs of New York” butcher to the gothic Wednesday Addams to the dragon-riding Daenerys Targaryen to the Force-wielding Rey to the cloaked Templar slayers of “Assassin’s Creed” to Wonder Woman to Little Mermaid to Poison Ivy to Marie Antoinette to Baby Doll to infinitely forking pathways in a fictional multiverse straddling gaming, comics, literature, movies and ancient archetypes.

Now, exclusively unveiled on the glossy cover of the October issue of XBIZ Cam World, Catjira rips back the curtain on her latest Machiavellian machinations, gunning her cosplaying engines as the ruthless Immortan Joe from “Mad Max: Fury Road.” Terrifyingly sexy and certain to inspire even greater heights of imagination, the latest bespoke metamorphosis commands absolute attention.

And it is precisely this boundless creativity and palpable passion Catjira exhibits, in all her exhibitionist exhibiting, that has made her one of the truly unforgettable legends of the MFC community — unrivaled, incomparable and beautifully brilliant. To merge into the pages and pageantry of her narrative nymphomania, XBIZ tangoed with her alluringly phantasmal mind for this exclusive Cam Star of the Month interview, in honor of “Catober” and the never-ending Halloween realm she rules as its Queen.

XBIZ: In just two years, you’ve skyrocketed to cam model stardom with cosplaying badassery and a lovable social media presence. Were there any major milestones along the way, where you finally felt like you had some serious momentum? Any challenges you had to overcome?

Catjira: I think one of the biggest things I am still currently trying to overcome, in a way, is understanding the extent of my influence. I don’t actually realize my presence or momentum half the time, because I get so wrapped up in the little weird world I’ve created. However, it does get pointed out to me quite a lot by my friends and colleagues, but I honestly just try to ignore it. I can’t have any distractions when it comes to reaching my goals and I don’t live my life walking on eggshells with people. I get easily thrown off my course, so I need to just do me. It’s still a challenge though.

XBIZ: Tell us about your costumes. What’s involved in putting them together? Any lessons you’ve learned after creating so many, that makes the next costume easier to assemble? What are your top three favorite cosplay costumes you’ve done?

Catjira: So, my wardrobe choices haven’t been the easiest. I work harder, not smarter, most of the time. How I put them together is really based off of time constraints, because most of what I do is for a big Miss MFC competition specific to a month. I have to plan everything in a timely manner, and question whether or not I’ll have time to make something by hand, which I prefer. I’ve learned absolutely nothing in making things easier! Haha. Everything I do gets more difficult the more I dive into my career because I just want the next one to be bigger and better. My top three would have to be Immortan Joe, from one of my favorite movies of all time “Mad Max Fury Road.” I also loved doing Negan and Lara Croft.

XBIZ: How do you balance fan-requested cosplay roles vs. surprise costumes that no one was expecting?

Catjira: I literally don’t balance it because I don’t offer it. I’ve only ever offered two custom cosplay ideas as prizes. I don’t enjoy doing things I don’t know or I’m not into, because it takes my passion away. I always like to surprise people with what I’m planning. I like being authentic but it’s pretty easy to figure out what I’m doing cause it’s usually a movie, TV show, book or video game that I’m super into.

XBIZ: What is your overall marketing strategy for unveiling a new costume, and what are the different ways you monetize content (video, cam, etc.) to maximize revenues for the latest cosplay persona?

Catjira: Typically, I create a video that’s a sort of trailer unveiling what I’m doing and publish it to my Twitter (@CatjiraTV), which is my biggest platform at the moment. Sometimes, I’ll post a picture beforehand, to create hype, but I always like to do a huge video trailer. I love to edit film and I love creating hype for my fans.

Maximizing revenue is something I’m still learning how to do best. Typically, I would make content exclusive to one month, on one platform, but I’ve been trying new platforms like Catjira.Manyvids.Com and Patreon.com/Catjira that are working amazingly and I’m meeting so many new fans on them.

XBIZ: Let’s talk about MyFreeCams.com. Why is it your cam network of choice?

Catjira: MyFreeCams.com is the best cam site in my opinion. They don’t censor a lot and give us creative reign to be ourselves. I love how supportive the audience can be there when it comes to creativity and hard-working women.

XBIZ: You have an audience that is 40 percent female and 60 percent male. To what do you attribute such a balanced fan base of females and males? Do you cater to female fans in a way that’s unique from how you perform for male fans?

Catjira: So, I have a lot of male financial supporters and a lot of females. I have more males than females, so that’s where the number comes from. I don’t cater to females specifically because they like what I do and supported me regardless, before I even knew what gender they were. I’m just like that girlfriend you’ve been with forever but still bang at least once a week, but you can totally use the bathroom with the door open and I won’t care. People like it, girls and boys. I just do me and like everyone too.

XBIZ: Who are your closest cam model friends? How have your relationships with others in the camming community influenced your career, both within the MFC family and outside of it?

Catjira: I’ve made a lot of friends going to events that I enjoy spending time with and talking to. However, I don’t have a lot of people I’m super close with. I have a lot of trust issues so I try and keep to myself when it comes to my personal life.

XBIZ: How did you approach the voting process for the inaugural XBIZ Cam Awards, to get fans motivated and engaged? It clearly worked!

Catjira: One of my supporters nominated me for the cosplay category, which is how I saw it originally. I love cosplay and I enjoy doing it, it’s my entire brand and I’m lucky to have a lot of people who support my work and want to see me succeed, so when I asked people to vote, they did!

XBIZ: What was it like attending XBIZ Miami this year, for panels and networking? And what was it like winning the first-ever XBIZ Best Cosplay Cam Model trophy at the Versace Mansion?

Catjira: XBIZ Miami was the most fun I have had in a long time. I met so many amazing people. I was so uptight going in, never socializing much with people, but everyone blew me away and was so friendly and made me feel so comfortable. I had the best time.

I honestly didn’t think I was going to win so I was actually surprised and had nothing planned to say, so I sort of blacked out and winged it and cried a little too. I’m honored and still can’t believe it.

XBIZ: What’s on the horizon for you now? Any words of advice to aspiring cosplay cam models?

Catjira: I’m just going to keep doing my thing as long as people like it. There will be so much more to come in 2018. I have two huge rank months a year in, April and October (a.k.a. “Catober”). I am so excited to unleash this beast (haha). I think a lot of people see me and think cosplay equals success, when that’s not the case. Find your passion and stick to it, because you’ll shine bright if you stay true to yourself.
