XFanz to stage erotica festival, perhaps erotically

Gram Ponante
XFanz, self-proclaimed World's Adult Entertainment Capital, will host an erotic film weekend September 15-16 at Hollywood's Knitting Factory.

Erotica Film Fest ’07 "will solicit creative submissions not only from the adult industry, but also from enterprising film students across the country," organizers say, tacitly admitting that the best adult movies feel like student films.

The event will be kicked off by "Studio 69", in which the Knitting Factory will be transformed into a modern-day Studio 54. "69" is a sexual position often referenced when the adult industry needs to use a number for something, though in 2006 the 69 position was employed in less than four percent of adult films, according to the U.N. Center for Turgidity Studies.

While six hours a day of watching porn feels like the seminary all over again, I am sure this event will get an interesting response.
