Wacom’s Bamboo Paper and Stylus for iPad

Designers, graphic artists and other creative types have long known that a computer mouse is not the ideal input device for smooth, fluid movements and expressive artistry. For these users, nothing can replace the feel of a stylus, providing the familiar grasp of a high quality pen. Over the years, these systems have grown in performance and dropped in price so that nearly any user can afford — and graphic producing users cannot afford to be without — a digitizing tablet and pen.

Bringing the freedom and flexibility of stylus input to mobile users is market leader Wacom, with its innovative Bamboo Paper and Stylus, an app and hardware combo for the iPad and other devices.

Bamboo Paper offers visual thinkers a way to construct and share their ideas digitally.

According to Wacom, its Bamboo Paper app allows users to create notes and sketches that can be shared, stored and archived for later use. It offers several paper types (blank, lined or graph) and mulitple pen thickness selections — providing a natural and realistic writing and sketching application tool.

“Bamboo Paper offers visual thinkers a way to construct and share their ideas digitally with a user interface that is natural, fun and easy to use,” notes Bamboo’s site.

Wacom says that the Bamboo Stylus offers a premium digital inking experience for handwriting notes, highlighting text, editing documents, drawing, sketching and more.

A compact, high-quality digital pen, Bamboo Stylus features subtle design elements, a sophisticated black and silver satin-textured metal body and balanced weighting with a stylus tip that is 25 percent narrower than some competitors, providing a higher level of ergonomic comfort and a firmer feel. This comfort is further enhanced by the natural feeling weight of a real pen to bring new capabilities to users on the go.

The Bamboo Stylus is compatible with the iPad, iPhone 4, and with limited features, the Samsung Galaxy Tab.
