Into the Mind of Diesel

Shane Diesel really does do ‘em all, just as the title of his popular compilation series for Digital Sin boldly proclaims.

Indeed, the black contract performer/director for New Sensations loves women of all ethnicities. It’s all good to Diesel, otherwise known as “Blackzilla” due to his monstrous appendage.

He’s also known as the King of Interracial. Which is news to Diesel himself.

“Wow! I didn’t know that I’d been branded the King of Interracial,” he good-naturedly stated as he relaxed at a Toluca Lake, Calif. café. “That’s cool. But, yes, it’s true — I perform with all types of girls. I don’t particularly have any favorites, either.”

Even though Diesel may be a stud, there’s no immodesty there. Quite the contrary; Diesel is, in fact, grateful to be in the industry and working regularly. Given Diesel’s on-camera exploits it’s surprising to learn that porn is only his day job; his night job being at Los Angeles International Airport, where he works full time as a cargo manager.

Actually, very much like a piece of cargo, porn was more or less delivered to Diesel. That is, he didn’t consciously go out looking for it. Rather, it came to him.

Born and raised in Las Vegas, Diesel came to California 22 years ago, initially focusing completely on bodybuilding.

“I was heavily into the whole bodybuilding thing,” he recalled. “I went to train all the time at Venice Beach and regularly competed in contests for about seven or eight years.”

He eventually became a personal trainer at various health clubs in L.A., and went on to own and manage his own personal training business, which unfortunately proved an uneven, sporadic feast-or-famine venture.

“Then in 1988, I was in a bodybuilding contest and got approached by this guy after the show who asked me point blank, ‘Hey, do you wanna pose nude for a magazine?’ And I was like, ‘Hmmm…’ A little skeptical. ‘Well, how much does it pay?’ I asked him. And he said, ‘It depends on what you’re working with.’ So I did an audition and afterwards he said, ‘Definitely.’ So I did a solo shoot for the magazine. It was just a one-shot thing, though.

“Anyhow, some years later I met this guy Silvio who was in the porn business and he said, ‘Dude, you look like somebody who could really do porn.’ And, again, I was a little skeptical. ‘Hmmmm… I don’t know,’ I said. But I was also hurting for money at the time. See, it was right after 9/11 and, since I work at LAX, things were very slow. Anyhow, he gave me his number and said to call him if I decided to make the move. So I called him the next day and he was right on top of it, and hooked me up with Pink Visual.”

Although working in porn since 2003, Diesel really created a name for himself after collaborating with Hush Hush Entertainment, where he became the one and only Blackzilla. He signed a contract with New Sensations in 2006 and has then since been doing nothing but top-notch gonzo. His series includes “Face Full of Diesel” (a POV line) and “She Only Takes Diesel.” However, he’s has also directed various installments of the New Sensations/Digital Sin lines “I Can’t Believe I Took the Whole Thing,” “Stretched Out Snatch,” and “MILFs Take Diesel.”

“Being behind the camera and watching it all happen is another high, another rush for me,” Diesel admitted. “I can see things differently. Plus it gives me a chance to be on the outside, to sit back and be the voyeur: ‘Okay, this is what I want to see. This is what turns me on.’ So I can tell the camera guy and the performers, ‘Let’s set it up this way,’ and arrange the angles exactly the way I want them. I mean, the last scene I directed was this orgy, and it was so nice to just sit back and tell everyone, ‘Do what you do. Have fun with it,’ and it was wonderful orchestrating and watching this black-on-white free-for-all. It’s actually called ‘Strippers Orgies’ and it features real-life strippers. I’m very close to finishing it.”

As stated earlier, Shane is grateful to be working not one but two jobs during these economically trying times. But he’s also one who, rather than preach and rub his good luck in people’s faces, is sincere in giving inspiration to the folks who aren’t doing too well, since he’s definitely been there himself before.

“Right now it’s a struggle for all of us,” he said. “The recession has hit everybody. But there are great opportunities right now, too. We just have to get past the stress of trying to find the next way.”
