What is your role and responsibility at New Sensations?

my goal is to increase DVD sales

My title at New Sensations and Digital Sin is vice president of domestic sales. I handle all of the national accounts — distributors, websites, store chains and catalogs. My job is to maintain the best customer service I possibly can and help each individual client realize the potential of our product through marketing and promotions. It's also my responsibility to keep DVD sales high through a slumping and flooded market. I also handle signings and appearances with our contract starlets, Ashlynn Brooke and now Sadie West. I occasionally work with the press in getting coverage for our product.

What are your goals for New Sensations in 2008?

First and foremost, my goal is to increase DVD sales each year. It's proven difficult with the slow decline of the market, but New Sensations/Digital Sin is still thriving. It is also my goal this year to become better acquainted with every account that I have. I want to work with each one individually to learn everything about them, as people and also as a business. I feel the best business will come from the best relationships. With hundreds of studios and thousands of releases, the best way to stand out is to strive to be in the forefront of the buyers' minds.

Describe a typical Monday at your desk.

I think in this industry, no one can say they have a typical day, let alone a typical Monday. This is part of the reason why I love working here and doing what I do. I don't want to sound cliché and say every day is an adventure, but the days do lend themselves to what I decide to make of it. Everything else is really up to me. That's what I find so great about this job: One moment I am working on a big promotion with someone and the next I am planning signings for Ashlynn or pulling pictures for a magazine. There's never a dull moment — my clients see to that!

What is the biggest challenge of being a woman in the adult entertainment industry?

To be honest, I don't think I have faced any challenges specifically related to being a woman and I don't feel like my sex has hindered me in any way. I have almost never been asked if I was talent and I have never been treated any differently than anyone else. I think in the beginning it was intimidating because I thought those things might happen. But I've been at New Sensations/Digital Sin for almost five years and it hasn't happened. The respect I get from my peers is unparalleled. There are some people in this business I consider to be as close as family and the amount of support I get from fellow vendors and customers alike is amazing. Even though we are all competition, we still work as a team. I even have a few of the veterans I consider my mentors, one of them being a woman. She has maintained in this business better than anyone I know and that's the kind of person I'd like to be.

How do you maintain balance in your life?

I do my best to leave work at work. There are times when that just can't apply, but it does, for the most part. If I were to take my work home with me every night, I'd never rest. I feel it's important to keep them separate. I have my close friends in the business who I like to spend time with outside of the industry, but you won't see me at too many industry parties. I do my best to spend as much time as possible with my family and my boyfriend. They keep me sane. I also like to (over) indulge myself in the gaming culture. I spend the rest of my free time on my PC or one of my consoles. It's the best release that I know.
