Can Someone Explain This?

I love getting email. Some of the questions I get are great, and I thank all of you who take the time to write. This article will be a Q&A of sorts. If I didn’t answer your question, it’s nothing personal, I just have a limited amount of space.

Q: How can I get listed at the Hun?

A: I’ve never been listed at the Hun, so I’m not really sure. The best advice I can give you is to follow the rules implicitly. Make a neat, clean, attractive gallery, if a recip is required, put it in the right place, and submit, submit, submit! Eventually he may get tired of seeing your gallery every other day and post it just to get you to shut up. Persistence pays off!

Q: What is a recip? I see it all over the place, but no one has told me what it is.

A: A recip is a reciprocal link. It means that you have to link back to whomever you’re trying to get to link to you. Example: You have to put a link to the Hun on your gallery to get the Hun to post your gallery on his site. It’s a traffic pull that works for both parties.

Q: How do I get traffic to my site?

A: That depends on the type of site you’re trying to get traffic to. ALWAYS have meta tags for search engines to spider. That will push your site higher on their listings. You can find link lists that will send you some good traffic to your free sites, or you can trade links with other sites that promote the same niche that you’re pushing. Check out message boards and read articles about traffic, and you can easily find some good answers to your question.

Q: Seriously, I hate building sites and galleries. But how else can I earn money?

A: All the McDonald’s jokes aside, take a good look at me. I don’t push sites. I don’t build them, (except for fun on my part), and I don’t make galleries. I found that I am a much better writer than webmaster, so I stick with that. Perhaps there’s something else that you’re good at or more interested in, and you can turn to that and learn how to profit from it. There are all kinds of jobs in the adult industry. Snoop around a bit and see what you can come up with.

Q: Can you help me get started?

A: I wish I had the time to sit down and talk to everyone I meet on an individual basis, however, there just aren’t enough hours in a day. Read my articles and look for my posts on message boards if you really want my take on things, or you can learn from other people who have been in this industry longer and have more experience than I. Trust me, there are some very intelligent and awesome people to talk with, and if you take the time to learn from them all, you’re going to be the next billionaire to walk down the street.

Q: Is there such a thing as an adult webmaster consultant?

A: I’ve never heard of it. You may be on to something there! Does this mean that you can critique sites, schemes, plans, content, and charge money to do it? I may be in the wrong business!

Thank you again to all of the people who write. I love getting emails, and would be delighted to hear from you. You can reach me at tala AT men DOT com. Take care of yourselves! ~ Tala
