Advice Can Be Golden

With the New Year now here, you can bet that there’s a sudden influx of newbies with it; and so this article is written specifically toward them, in an effort to smooth their way.

Welcome to the wonderful world of Internet pornography. This business, just like any other, has its ups and downs and highs and lows. The trick is to know how to make money no matter whether your market is up or down.

I’d like to offer you some advice. Whether or not you think it’s worth following is completely up to you, but at least read through it and remember that no matter who you may idolize, no matter who’s talking to you, and no matter what you see or hear, everyone in this business was once a newbie like you.

First off, learn to use your sense of patience. Start small. Rome wasn’t built in a day, and neither is any fortune. Don’t rush headlong into a paysite (some would say not to even try an AVS site at first). Try your hand at promoting free sites first, if you even want to promote a site at all.

Choose a niche that you really like. Chances are, if you like the niche you’re working with, then you’ll know better the market for that niche. If you’re trying to promote a niche that you don’t like, your chances of making money from it are going to be rather limited because you won’t know where to promote your stuff. Work with what you know.

Choose your sponsor wisely. Most sponsors will give free content, but how many of them also give support when you need it? Does your sponsor’s free content get shuffled occasionally to prevent their stuff from going stale? Does your sponsor have someone who will help you promote? Be careful and make sure your sponsor knows how and when to help you.

Read and interact on message boards. Believe it or not, you can learn a great deal from the people who hang out at webmaster boards. Just cut through the hype and the utter nonsense, and what you’ll have left is great advice and some really good sponsors, suggested by those who make the money from those sponsors.

Read your resource sites. Make it your new religion. These articles are written by some of the industry’s finest, and the advice and instruction you get here will pay off thousand fold in the end.

If you live and work in the United States, then yes, you have to pay taxes on your earnings. Uncle Sam wants his cut, and trust me, if you skip out on paying your share, then you will be caught eventually. Don’t run the risk.

Honesty is the best policy, not just here in the business, but everywhere. If you are dishonest and get your income from stuff like spam, then you’re not going to go far. Be honest with yourself and be honest with your surfers.

Push yourself, but don’t over push yourself. You can and will burn yourself out quickly if you’re not careful. Push yourself, but don’t think that you can do it all and do it all fast. It doesn’t happen that way. Don’t be too proud to ask for help when you need it.

Last but never least, you’ve got to absolutely believe in yourself and your abilities. Ignore the haters, but take good advice when given. Learn what you can and cannot do and then focus all of your talents and energies on what you can do rather than trying to accomplish what you can’t.

You will learn as you go, just like everyone else did. But with these tips in mind, you’ve got a better chance of success than average. Live and learn and become a success.

Take care of yourselves!
