I'm beginning the process of resurrecting my first amateur site "Ayrora.com" and while looking for new ways to make money with it, I immediately realized that with the new costly visa regulations and not desiring to spend money up front to reopen it, I would have to look into a new option not yet tried, but one that might prove to be workable at least until my profits paid for Visa's new rules.
But First, A Little History
In 1996 along with thousands of other women, I took the Porn plunge. It was though we had all woke up with the same idea, we all left the starting line with renewed energy and a dream of making millions. With very little knowledge of computers, I felt like a cave man building something to live in. Through stubbornness to succeed, my own sexual hungers and through trial and error, Ayrora.com was born. For 5 years my site grew, changed and started to take on a life of it's own, and as technology became better and easier, it was then that I realized the changes that would have to be made in order to keep up with the competition ahead. The overwhelming feelings and frustrations became an everyday reality when weighing my time and energy spent working to change my site to keep up with the competition and the leveling off of the profits I began noticing from my business account. So, in 2001 Ayrora.com was burned onto a CD, the site was closed and Ayrora slept, awaiting the day that has now cum to wake her with a new kiss of life. And again the work begins, as so much has changed personally, technically and legally since this site was created as my online identity as "Ayrora Goddess of Pleasure".
Seeking an Alternative
When my first site was launched I only had one option and that was to get my own merchant account, since at that time there were no other options to be able to accept Visa, Master Card, etc. After a few years in the business along came CCBill and ibill, and since then more have entered the arena which proved to make life at the time so much easier and less costly then being responsible for your own merchant account. I've had the pleasure of using both CCBill and ibill, and have even checked out PayPal, as it is widely used for Internet businesses as well as online auctions. But things are different now, as all of these programs are asking for an up front fee from us 'High Risk Merchants' here in the porn biz. "So what's the alternative?" For me, this will be PRO Adult an up and coming leader in the AVS (Adult Verification System) market, and a place I found while searching for a new and different way to make money with my site and an option that works within my needs.
Working Within the Rules
After studying ProAdult Quantum over thoroughly, I found that what they had to offer was all very reasonable. Some of the things I liked about them is that their Quantum program is designed like a huge pay site with so much content that it would take one person 2 months to view everything they have to offer, they add more content every month and update their content daily. This will give an added variety to my site and creates an extra way for me to make money on my site's traffic. Another thing I found appealing was that the content that they provide is different then the other programs that I've looked into using, the content that they provide is a nice balance between professional, unique, and Amateur sites that I haven't seen everywhere else. These sites look real enough that they could possibly keep a surfer from running, out of fear that he might get caught in a professional snare of pop-up hell. Their payout is higher then most, you get paid every month for each member you referred until the user discontinues the membership, and you can make $2.00 for every sale made by a referred webmaster.
I also found all of their site requirements to be quite reasonable, although one of their rules proved to be a little frustrating, as they require that your site must be exclusive to ProAdult, no other membership or signup methods are allowed. I had planned to sell merchandise, as one of my methods to trade for free memberships, which is something I will do a bit differently for the time being, so as to work within their set of rules. All in all, the program proves to be promising enough for me to get started on making some money as soon as my site is signed up with them and ready to go, and might just be what you're looking for as well.
Time will tell if this was the right choice, but the alternative isn't something I'm comfortable doing until I know that "Ayrora Goddess of Pleasure" can rise and prosper once more. I hope I've helped in some way that might be useful to you as well. ~ Ayrora
