One Week and Counting…

Yep, it’s hard to believe but it’s true: one week from today, the January, 2003 InterNext Expo begins at the Sands Conventions Center, adjacent to the luxurious Venetian Hotel, on the world famous Las Vegas Strip!

Beginning on Monday, January 6th and ending on Wednesday, the 8th – give or take a day or two for the early-bird partygoers, and ‘time-to-unwind afterwards’ crowd swinging into action the night before, plus eager marketers preparing for the next day’s frenzy of activity; the roller-coaster ‘show of shows’ is once again about to unleash its furious assault upon the senses of all those in attendance – Are you ready?

For those who’ve been, and who have witnessed the evolution of the online adult entertainment industry’s largest event, you have an idea of what to expect. For those who’ve never been, however, it is an event like no other – and one that shouldn’t be missed! The ‘HELMY Team’ will be in attendance, and working hard (as usual), to make the show a success. And what a show it will be! The following is a sneak peak at some of the highlights that we have planned for those fortunate attendees that can make ‘the big show:’

XBiz, GigaCash, and ASACP
Continuing in our tradition of reaching out to the adult Webmaster community, XBiz will once again have a comfortable reception booth (#616) at the show. Be sure to stop by our booth for a Hug from our very own XBiz Princess, to meet the rest of the gang, and to chat with some of your fellow Cosmic Village members!

Adult Sites Against Child Pornography (ASACP) will have a booth both at InterNext (#165) as well as at the upcoming Adult Entertainment Expo (#2088) which is set to follow InterNext. ASCAP’s Executive Director, Joan Irvine, will participate on a panel “Fighting Child Pornography from Various Perspectives,” discussing ASACP’s new Code of Ethics, and the importance of self-regulation. This panel is scheduled for Monday, January 6th, from 2:45pm - 3:45pm. Other panelist will include Bill Lyon, the Executive Director of the Free Speech Coalition, and Jeff Southworth, the Director of Marketing from Epoch Systems.

Among their InterNext activities, ASACP will also announce their new membership program, and offer Founding Member status to those who join before March 31st. Over 2000 adult sites are proudly displaying the ASACP logo, and if you’d like to join them in the fight against child pornography, stop by their booth.

For those that can make the all-too-early (8:30am!) meeting time, on Tuesday, January 7th, at Venetian’s ‘Grand Lux Café,’ the XBiz’ ‘Breakfast of Champions’ will provide a comfortable start to a busy day of networking and deal making. Just the ticket for starting a productive day of trying to make “GIGACASH!”

XBiz Presents GIGAMIX and The First Annual Adult Web Awards
And speaking of tickets, the ‘Hot Ticket’ at this show is for “GIGAMIX’ – running from 11pm to 4am, at the Venetian’s club C2K on Tuesday, January 7th You’ll be glad you started the day with a good breakfast – because the lucky attendees at this exclusive event will be partying hard on this long night! Featuring the “United We Funk All Stars,” GIGAMIX is sponsored by Gamma Entertainment, CE Cash, Ox Cash, Net Verifier, Spy Sex Network, and Focus Adult – and it promises to be one of the best events at the show!

One of the highlights of GIGAMIX will be the presentation of The First Annual Adult Web Awards! Selected from the nominations of their clients, sponsors, and peers, the finalists in this year’s contest, as well as the new winners, will all receive the recognition of their individual excellence that they so richly deserve.

Maintaining A Remarkable Pace…
As for me, I will be my usual busy blur of activity: networking, learning, partying, and preaching – with time out for a little fun at the slots, a photo / video shoot or two, and maybe even a break for “The Lord of the Rings: The Twin Towers” on the ‘big screen’ (Vegas, unlike my little California mountain town, is blessed with proper theatres). I’ll be at the XBiz booth, strolling the floor, and dropping in on a few seminars. If you see me, come up and have your picture taken!

On Wednesday, January 8th, a mercilessly few short hours after the end of GIGAMIX and the quite inevitable ‘very late dinner / early breakfast’ and my private ‘loving on Dawn Elizabeth’ party, I will be speaking at the first seminar of the day: “How to Market Your Traffic to Amateur Sites.” While I fear that this early morning (10:30-11:30am) ‘last day of the show’ spiel may catch me at my most senseless and incoherent, the wisdom and experience of my fellow seminar panelists – Samuel Agboola from Danny’s Hard Drive, Farrell Timlake from Homegrown Video, and Steve Wright from DeviantCash.com – will undoubtedly provide attendees with a wealth of valuable marketing tips.

As always, I will also be providing daily coverage (including photos and booth interviews) from the show here at XBiz, for the benefit of those who can’t attend this next InterNext Expo in person. If you’re one of the fortunate Webmasters, marketers, models or mavens to make the show, be sure to stop and say “Howdy!”

I’ll see ya in ‘Vegas, baby! ~ Stephen

What You Need to Know Before Relocating Your Adult Business Abroad

Over the last several months, a noticeable trend has emerged: several of our U.S.-based merchants have decided to “pick up shop” and relocate to European countries. On the surface, this sounds idyllic. I imagine some of my favorite clients sipping coffee or wine at sidewalk cafés, embracing a slower pace of life.
