"T.V lines" is a pattern that is very popular with designers these days, as they add a fresh unique look to your images, background or text. If you have never tried this before, our Design-a-Thon tutorial will get you quickly up to speed!
Step 1: Open your Photoshop, then click on "File" and start a new project by clicking on "New"
Step 2: Now you will want to set Width to 2 pixels and Height to 5 pixels. Make sure that you set the background to "Transparent"
Step 3: Now, to make it easier for you to see your project, click on the "Zoom" tool then click on "Fit On Screen"
Step 4: This is where the magic begins! Click on your rectangle "marquee" tool, then select half of the canvas with your "marquee" tool
Step 5: Click on "Edit" then "Fill" – you can choose any color you would like: I chose red.
Final Step: Bring the image back to its "actual size" by clicking on the "zoom" tool then click on "Edit" and "Define Pattern" – you can name your pattern anything you would like:
To use this pattern, all you have to do is click on "Create New Layer" on your "Layers Tool Box" on whatever project you're working on. Click "Edit" then "Fill." Instead of clicking on 'Foreground' or 'Background' color choose "Pattern" and your text or image should look somthing like this:
You can further modify your image by dropping the "opacity" a bit:
