WIA Profile: Lea Busick

How did you get into the business?

I relocated to Arizona from Chicago. While looking for a job, an ad for a “high-growth internet company” struck my eye. I interviewed with Kevin and Allison and the rest is pure porn history.

The current economic environment has had a tremendous impact on business and therefore, we are challenged daily to rethink or re-examine just about everything — from pricing models to method of distribution.

What in your background prepared you for what you are doing now?

I’ve held marketing positions at many mainstream companies for a very long time so I’ve got experience in just about every area including data analysis, public relations, media relations, print, SEO etc. I’ve also managed marketing and sales departments and have what I think to be, a pretty good business acumen. All of this experience created a solid foundation for working with a top-notch company like TopBucks, which is run very professionally.

What do you see as the challenges of working in online adult and how do you overcome them?

The challenges of working in online adult are very similar to the challenges of any other business sector. For example, keeping ahead of technology is important and with technology changing so fast, you’ve either got to adapt or die. The current economic environment has had a tremendous impact on business and therefore, we are challenged daily to rethink or re-examine just about everything — from pricing models to method of distribution. Then of course, there is the unique challenge of how to deal with the amount of content theft out there. And we face that challenge headon by fiercely protecting our intellectual property.

Does your work affect your personal life?

Not in the least bit. My entire family, friends and partner are on board with what I do. Stacey (my gal) even likes to travel along to the shows when she can. She’s amazed at the amount of fun and camaraderie in this business.

Do you have a personal motto or slogan that you live by?

Wow, I actually have several so this is a tough question. But one of my favorites is “Never regret anything because at once point in time it was exactly what you wanted.”
