"Ever read one of those top ten lists or photo galleries where every item is on a different page?" the company's website asks. "You spend more time clicking 'Next' and waiting than actually reading anything."
Their solution to the problem is a free bookmarklet that is designed to automatically merge all of the "Next" pages into one page — letting users skip directly to the material they are interested in. The software is also available as a Firefox extension.
According to its makers, PageZipper automatically searches through web pages for a "Next" link. While the link may be too cryptic on some pages, the URL can be manually added, which also helps the company improve the software's accuracy. For example, PageZipper does not work when the next page is loaded using JavaScript code instead of a normal link.
Once it has been installed, when a user scrolls down to the bottom of a web page, PageZipper will automatically add the next page in that series to the bottom of the page the user is currently viewing. Clicking on the toolbar arrow takes you to the top of the next page.
The feature that many users, including surfers of adult websites, may find most useful is the aid that PageZipper provides to viewers of image galleries, where clicking the arrow on the toolbar displays the next image in the gallery and automatically resize those images to fit the browser window, displaying the entire image without scrolling.
