Rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine Appears in Romantic Depot Commercial

NEW YORK — Prior to being arrested on gang-related charges, rapper Tekashi 6ix9ine filmed a commercial for Romantic Depot’s anti-domestic violence campaign called Dignity and Respect.

According to the retailer, 6ix9ine was not paid to appear in the commercial and “because 6ix9ine said he was leaving the gang life and wanted to make himself a better person by showing women that he wants to change his past behavior. But this good will never came to fruition as he was shortly arrested for federal racketeering charges,” the company says.

Romantic Depot is giving away free domestic violence brochures and free Valentine’s Day adult toys to anyone that comes in and mentions Dignity and Respect.

"Romantic Depot does not support Daniel Hernandez, aka Tekashi 6ix9ine, and his past behavior in anyway whatsoever," Romantic Depot NY stores CEO Glen B. said. "A lot of our staff members including myself were very skeptical although the campaign was filmed well before 6ix9ine was being accused by his ex-girlfriend Sara of domestic violence.

Glen B. added, "This message by a controversial figure such as 6ix9ine could help spread the word and start a conversation about preventing domestic violence against women and ultimately that was our goal."
